Mock up poster
This is the mockup design for my film poster. I will follow a traditional design layout of many other film posters. The image will be the main focus of the poster. I will use Photoshop to adjust the image making it more eye catching and effective. The film title will consist of the same font used on the magazine cover to show a use of promotional synergy. I will include a tagline which will feature throughout the trailer. "once upon a time, there lived two children" this reflects the background basis of the story as the trailer is based on the children's tale Hansel and Gretel. I will include a billing block showing the director and actors names and also it will feature the release date.

Mock up magazine over
I have chosen to undertake a simple layout as i think it is the most effective way to approach making a magazine cover. I believe a basic but effective house style is needed so i will be using a blue and white color scheme. I believe the light blue will stand out against the white background effectively. The masthead will be behind the actors head allowing the main focus of the magazine to be given. I will keep to a similar variation of fonts to keep a tight and reflective house style. Photoshop will be used frequently allowing the photo to stand out and look effective. I want an effective use of synergy between the poster and cover so the audience can see the contrast between the two. The will be a use of puffs featuring exclusive interviews with the cast and free posters inside the magazine. The date will be positioned at the top next to the masthead and the bar code will be placed at the bottom.

Hansel: John Appleby- We chose John as he is currently doing a drama course and could give a very realistic performance as Hansel. We also thought him and Lucy worked well together as brother and sister.
Gretel: Lucy Cashman- We chose Lucy to play Gretel as she she fit the profile of the character rather well.
Witch:Ashley Gallagher- We decided in the end Ashley would make a better witch than Liam Rudge so therefore we chose her to portray the antagonist of this tale.
Step- Mother: Elle Loftus- We hose Elle as she came across as the right fit for the character of the evil step-mother.
Father: Danny McDonald- We thought Danny would be the perfect person to truly highlight the struggling relationship between the mother and father.
